Shutting Down the Computer

Well, we are about to take down the computer, so we thought we better give a last update before the void. We sold our car last week! That was our last big thing to do (besides pack) and it is great to get it out of the way. We drove the church van for a few days (which I am highly unqualified to do!) and yesterday the Pruitt’s were kind enough to lend us their car until we leave. We have a busy week in addition to packing. Today a nurse is coming by because we are getting life insurance. I’m not looking forward to that. This weekend we’re going camping with the Young Families Class at Edmond, and we’re very excited. Good thing we kept our sleeping bags!! Then Monday we take off to Fort Worth for our last week in the states. Don’t cry, we’ll come back to visit!

Kim’s Update

Well, now that our blog is up, I thought I’d better start writing something! Things are going really well for us. Yesterday we went and bought a lot of goodies that we will need when we get to Nicaragua. I want to try to have about a 3 month supply of the necessities, so that we don’t have to spend time shopping when we first get there. For so long we were working on getting all of the money that we need to move, and now that that is complete, we finally get to start on getting ready for the actual move! This is the fun part. We got our new computer so that we can keep everyone updated, and we got a digital camera too so that we can keep putting pictures in our gallery. Hopefully we will be able to get internet set up as soon as we build our house.

It’s hard to decide what to do with some stuff. For example, do we take our picture frames? I guess I don’t really want to get rid of too many more things because I know that it just means that we’ll have to buy new ones in Nicaragua - and you never get as much money when you sell something as it costs you to buy it new (even in Nicaragua).
