March Newsletter

The month of March has been a very exciting and busy month for us. The first Sunday of the month we participated in two “Mission Sundays.” For Sunday morning services we visited the Del City Church of Christ. They will be helping us with a monthly contribution for our work and they had invited us to their mission Sunday in honor of all the missionaries and mission work that they support. I was able to teach a young adult class and participate in the morning services. We were then treated to a wonderful lunch.
That same Sunday evening, we had a mission Sunday at our home congregation, the Edmond Church of Christ. We also had a banquet honoring one of the works that we support in Verdun, Canada.
On the 10th of this month, we left for a 9 day mission trip to Aquiles, Mexico. I have been on many short-term mission trips, but this was certainly a new experience. There were 188 people in our group that traveled to Mexico. For five days, there were building and benevolent projects, VBS in five different towns, and a team of dentist that saw over 70 people. The Edmond Church of Christ has been conducting this mission trip for the past 16 years and it was our first time to go and help with this effort. There weren’t many translators for the group, so Kim and I spent most of our time translating and coordinating the work for the dentists.
This Easter Sunday (27th) we will be visiting the Grandfield Church of Christ in Grandfield, OK. Grandfield is near Wichita Falls, TX, were my parents are living, so we will be visiting them as well.
We are half way to our departure date for Nicaragua. We will be planning to leave the first week in July. Till then we will continue to visit congregations and individuals to reach our start-up cost. We want to ask you to keep us in your prayers as we travel and make our last preparations for Nicaragua. May God bless you all in everything you do.
